Connect Claude

Add CompanyOS to Claude as a custom connector. About five minutes, mostly inside Claude's settings.

Last verified: 2026-08-06

Claude is the recommended AI Client for CompanyOS. For what a connected client can see and do, read AI Clients.

Before you start

  • You are a Member of the Workspace you want to connect.
  • The Workspace has at least one ready file. An empty Workspace connects fine, but the check at the end will have nothing to cite.
  • Claude currently allows one custom connector on its Free plan. Paid plans allow more.

Install the Claude plugin

The CompanyOS plugin adds the connection and three commands in one install. In Claude Code, run:

claude plugin marketplace add meduza-digital/companyos-plugins
claude plugin install companyos@companyos

Start a session, run /mcp, choose companyos, and complete the CompanyOS sign-in. Then type:

  • /companyos:use-procedure weekly briefing runs a Procedure, or asks you to pick when several match.
  • /companyos:update-procedure onboarding add a step for laptop setup proposes a change and saves it only after you say yes.
  • /companyos:search what is our refund policy answers from your files, with citations.

In claude.ai or the desktop app, open Customize → Plugins, add the marketplace meduza-digital/companyos-plugins, and install CompanyOS. Then connect it from the plugin’s Connectors tab. To connect without the plugin, follow the steps below.

Steps

  1. In CompanyOS, open AI Clients and copy the connection link: https://app.companyos.cc/api/mcp.

  2. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors. If you open Settings → Connectors, Claude shows a note that connectors moved to Customize. Follow it.

  3. Click Add, then Add custom connector.

  4. Fill in two fields:

    • Name: something you will recognise, for example CompanyOS.
    • Remote MCP server URL: the connection link.

Leave Advanced settings empty. CompanyOS does not need an OAuth client ID or secret.

  5. Click Add, complete the CompanyOS sign-in, and pick the Workspace if you belong to more than one.

  6. Back in Customize → Connectors, check that the connector is listed with a checkmark in the Status column.

Check that it works

A listed connector is configured, not proven. In a new chat with the connector enabled, ask something only your files can answer:

Summarize the launch plan and cite the files you used.

A grounded answer cites your Company Files or your own Personal Files. A generic answer means Claude did not read from CompanyOS.

If the screens look different

Claude changes its connector menus without notice, and this page carries the date it was last checked. Look for the current “custom connector” or “MCP” option in Claude’s settings and use the same link. The link is what matters, not the route to the form.

Troubleshooting

  • The connector is listed but Claude never uses it. Enable the connector for the conversation. Some Claude surfaces need you to select it per chat.
  • Sign-in works but no Workspace appears. Your account is not a Member of a Workspace yet, or you signed in with a different email than the one you were invited with.
  • Claude sees no files. Check that the files are ready, and that they are Company Files or your own Personal Files.
